Join NOPA and OFDA for the 2017 Small Business Advocacy Fly-In

 

  

Each year, representatives for the National Office Products Alliance (NOPA) and the Office Furniture Dealers Alliance (OFDA) converge upon the nation's capital to lobby on behalf of the industry's needs. Their efforts place the issues that impact the industry directly in front of lawmakers - lawmakers who are interested in what their constituents have to say.


Since 2000, it's become quite evident how close election races have become with some members of Congress capturing their seats by 10 and 20 votes. Today, your vote and your voice matters! IOPFDA leads the industry charge in Washington to ensure that the voices of independent dealers and their trading partners are being heard. Commit today to strengthening the IOPFDA's grassroots army of independent dealers.

 

This year's Legislative Fly-in will occur May 16-17, 2017 in Washington, D.C.

 

The fly-in is a very important activity for NOPA members because it places them directly across the table from their legislators and forces the lawmakers to hear the concerns of leading business operators in their districts. The Association urges as many representatives as possible to partake in this important industry-specific fly-in as there is strength in numbers. Unity with your peers shows that this industry has power and has concerns that need to be heard.

 

Tuesday, May 16, 2017: Arrive in Washington, D.C. for the fly-in; Regan National Airport (DCA) is the closest airport.

 

12:00 pm: All NOPA and OFDA attendees arrive at the hotel for lunch
1:00 – 4:00 pm: Welcome & Legislative Update from Paul Miller (MW Capitol), NOPA Director of Small Business Advocacy
5:30 pm: Representatives will enjoy dinner with guests at a local restaurant

 

Wednesday, May 17, 2017


8:00 – 9:00 am:

Breakfast at the hotel

9:30 am – 1:30 pm: Capitol Hill Visits
1:30 – 3:00 pm: Lunch and Debriefing
3:00 pm: Conclusion of fly-in

 

 

 

ACTION ITEMS:

 

In order to participate in the fly-in, members need to register and provide their preferred legislative zip code on the registration form. This can be the zip code of either their home or office. Staff will then set up congressional meetings based on the zip codes the members provide. This is a very important step and cannot be over-looked. For those participating in the fly-in, the association needs your preferred legislative zip code.

  

 

Hotel Information

The association has secured a discounted room block for participants of the fly-in to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Alexandria/Old Town.
