"The IOPFDA scholarship program allowed me to bring down the cost of my tuition, regardless of which MBA program I ultimately chose. Having that extra boost free from school-specific scholarships was wonderful as I considered my options." -

Savannah Guernsey

Savannah Guernsey is the VP, Marketing & Merchandising at Guernsey, Inc where over the past six months she launched the Interiors by Guernsey subsidiary brand, redeveloped Guernsey's digital approach to healthy snacks, and spiked double-digit growth in target product lines.

Prior to working for Guernsey, she spent time with PwC, where she developed the finance and accounting system for a non-profit healthcare tech start up. She'll be joining the executive MBA cohort at UVA's Darden School of Business starting in the Fall of 2017 and hopes to gain greater insight into logistics and operations. She represents Guernsey, Inc. actively at the Reston Chamber of Commerce, where she co-chairs the Young Professionals Committee, and is currently under consideration for a board seat with OAR Fairfax, a non-profit committed to reducing recidivism by helping returning offenders reintegrate into the local community.

Nathan Kuhn
Sponsored by: SMEAD Manufacturing

My name is Nathan Kuhn and I graduated from Eagan High School in Eagan, Minnesota.

I played football, basketball and baseball in high school. Since my junior year I have been a part of National Honor Society and the World Languages Honor Society. This past fall I was a Pit Crew Leader. This meant I helped lead cheers and keep the fans pumped up at football games. I have also been a Link Leader for two years where I mentor incoming 9th graders to ensure they have a successful high school career.

In high school I’ve taken numerous honors, Advanced Placement and College in the Schools classes. I have excelled in all of my classes, but especially like my math classes. I’m in the top 10% of my class and an AP Scholar.

In my community I do volunteer work to satisfy requirements for NHS and I also do additional volunteer hours that have qualified me for the Eagan High School Baseball Wildcat Service Award.

I plan to study and major in actuarial science at Ohio University. I would like to play college baseball, but if that doesn’t work out, I will play intramural sports and attend college sporting events.
