IOPFDA to “Walk the Hill” as Part of the Workplace Solutions Summit |
ROSEMONT, Ill.— March 9, 2023— The Independent Office Products and Furniture Dealers Association (IOPFDA), a Division of ISSA, is pleased to announce that workplace solutions thought leaders from across the country will be gathering in Washington D.C. March 28-30, 2023, to meet with key members of Congress to discuss critical issues facing the industry. The Workplace Solutions Summit is a significant opportunity for the industry to meet in person with elected leaders to educate them on how their policies impact the bottom line and our ability to grow in this ever-evolving environment. “As the association tirelessly works to promote and protect the industry, the Workplace Solutions Summit is one of the key opportunities to sit down face-to-face with policymakers and let them know what’s important to the industry,” said IOPFDA advocacy representative Paul Miller. “This is more critical than ever before as Washington continues to be divided and the industry competes with the noise and politics of the Beltway, and also with those who oppose the issues important to our businesses.” The three-day event is an opportunity for participants to hear from industry leaders and policymakers, network with their peers, and advocate for solutions to the challenges facing the small businesses in our industry. The event is sponsored by American Office Products Dealers (AOPD), Clover Imaging Group, Essendant, Independent Suppliers Group (ISG), and S.P. Richards Co. IOPFDA has been advocating for small businesses of the office products and furniture industry’s ability to market to the U.S. government for more than 20 years. While the challenges facing the industry have changed in recent years, it remains critical to have a visible presence in Washington D.C., especially with new threats arising from cyber security, counterfeiting, and other issues. To increase the efficiency and success of the 2023 Workplace Solutions Summit, IOPFDA has shifted the format to an invitation-only event for nearly two dozen members of the IOPFDA advisory board and supportive dealers from past years. The goal is to advocate for issues impacting the industry, strategize on future in-person events, and develop an effective grassroots program that engages dealers and clients on both the state and federal levels. “We would like to thank the sponsors for taking a leadership role in advocating for industry-critical small business issues,” said IOPFDA Executive Director Mike Tucker. “Without their support, the industry would not have a seat at the table in important policy decisions. The event is a moment for us to be heard and to make a difference in the future of the industry.” About IOPFDA The Independent Office Products and Furniture Dealers Association (IOPFDA), a Division of ISSA, was formed in 1904 and has more than 550 members consisting of office products and furniture dealers, manufacturers, wholesalers, manufacturer representatives, and industry service providers across the United States.
