BSA Names Lifetime Achievement Honouree

The Business Solutions Association (BSA) has selected Joe Templet as the honouree for its 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award.

Templet is SVP of Trade Development at Essendant, where he has worked since 1985.

He began his career in 1968 as a sales representative for Proctor and Gamble, working in the Consumer Paper Products area. He also had stints working for Polaroid and Parker Pen.

He has always been active within the industry and has participated in many trade associations, including time as President of the Office Products Wholesalers Association and President of Business Solutions Association. He was elected to the board of directors for the Wholesale Stationers Association and the National Association of Writing Instrument Distributors. 

Templet has supported the City of Hope for 30 years, served as co-chairman of the Friends for Hope campaign, and in 2013, was the recipient of the first City of Hope Hall of Fame Award. In 2016, he received the prestigious City of Hope Spirit of Life Award.

He will receive the BSA Leadership Award at a special President’s Award Dinner during the 2018 BSA Annual Forum, which takes place on 5-6 September in Indianapolis (IN).

BSA President Barry Lane said: “Since 1982, Joe Templet has made an outstanding contribution to our industry he has inspired us all by setting the industry standard for managing and maintaining excellent customer relationships. Joe deserves to receive this special recognition from our industry.”
