At its annual meeting, US dealer network American Office Products Distributors (AOPD) unveiled a comprehensive new rebrand.

Dealers and business partners attended AOPD’s yearly event, taking place this time at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort in Scottsdale (AZ). At the meeting, the group revealed its new logo, tagline, website as well as future sales and marketing tools.

AOPD President Bill Jones said: “AOPD’s new logo and brand awareness campaign comes at the perfect time, as we continue to become better known as a national player, as evidenced by the incredible growth of the NCPA [National Cooperative Purchasing Alliance] & Premier contracts, and the two new national healthcare contracts we were just awarded.”

Following the meeting, AOPD held a special dinner to present The President’s Award to individuals who have been long-time supporters of the group and the independent dealer community.

This year, AOPD honoured Kim Vogel, General Manager at Alabama-based Strickland, with the Dealer prize, while Bill Cardone of Kentucky-based TOPS Products won the Business Partner award.

In addition, the Bud Mundt Outstanding Achievement Award went to Sharon Stepien, AOPD’s General Manager and Manager of National Operations who retired last August after 22 years.

Meanwhile, AOPD dealer members also elected the organisation’s 2018 board of directors. The appointments are as follows:

  • Chairman – Frank Fera, Owner, Bulldog Office Products
  • President – Bill Jones, CEO, The Office City
  • VP – Kim Vogel, General Manager, Strickland Companies
  • Treasurer – Gordon Pepper, President, Ritter’s Office Outfitters
  • Secretary – Beth Freeman, VP of Sales, FSIoffice
  • Director – Dutch Jones, SVP of Sales, The Supply Room Companies
  • Director – Wayne Stillwagon, COO, Miller’s Supplies at Work
Next year's event will take place on 10-13 March 2019 at the Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad (CA).
