OPI is saddened to report the passing of industry legend Jack Ramaley.

He died peacefully on Saturday 20 January, at the age of 97.

Jack was the Executive Director of global cleaning association ISSA from 1975-1987 and was known to many in the industry as ‘Mr ISSA’, famously sporting personalised number plates to that effect.

He remained committed to ISSA and the industry right up until his death, playing an active role on the ISSA Foundation board and occasionally attending shows.

His career in the jan/san sector began in 1958 when he joined Breur-Electric (later known as Tornado) as a regional sales manager. In 1972, he served as Treasurer for ISSA and went on to receive the first ISSA Industry Distinguished Service Award. The accolade was later renamed in his honour.
