Office Depot Launches Business Services Platform

Office Depot has made another step in its omnichannel strategy by launching its own business solutions platform.

 

BizBox has been created to provide US start-ups and small businesses with access to core services required to grow their businesses. The offering is subscription-based, starting at $99 a month.

 

End-to-end services offered by BizBox include accounting, email marketing and website creation. The launch of the platform followed a survey by Office Depot that revealed the problems faced by business owners when using digital solutions. In study of 1,500 small business and start-up owners, Depot found that nearly one-third did not have a website, while over half do not undertake any kind of social marketing.

 

Office Depot Chief Digital Officer Kevin Moffitt said: “BizBox is a platform designed to help reduce some of the stress and barriers that prevent entrepreneurs from turning their ideas into reality, and is the first service of its kind backed by the business expertise of a multibillion-dollar enterprise.” 

 

The platform builds on Depot’s acquisition last month of IT management group CompuCom Systems, as the company transitions from the traditional office products retail model to a broader omnichannel solutions platform.

 

Office Depot CEO Gerry Smith commented: “We have the ability to reach nine million small business customers through our touch points around the country. Uniting this deep expertise with the world-class IT services of CompuCom will help solve customer problems in a way few others are doing right now.”
