Cleaning industry association ISSA has announced the winners of this year’s Innovation Awards.

Presented at the ISSA/INTERCLEAN North America 2017 in Las Vegas, the accolades recognise the sector’s top products and services as voted for by members of the industry itself.

Clorox Professional Products took home the overall ISSA Innovation of the Year Award for its Clorox Total 360 System electrostatic disinfectant sprayer.

As well as the main award, prizes were presented to the pick of each category:

  • Cleaning Agents: Stone Floor Protection System by 3M Commercial Solutions Division
  • Dispensers: enMotion Flex Paper Towel System by GP PRO
  • Equipment: Doodle Skate by Square Scrub
  • Services & Technology: Business Intelligence Software by CleanTelligent Software
  • Supplies & Accessories: Self-Cleaning Surfaces for Travel and Hospitality by NanoTouch Materials

Meanwhile, the Visitors’ Choice Awards – as voted for by attendees at the expo – went to:

  • i-mop XXL by i-team Global
  • Robotic Vacuum by Makita USA
  • Doodle Skate by Square Scrub
  • Spill Mop by Rubbermaid Commercial Products
  • Clorox Total 360 System by Clorox Professional Products Company

In other news, ISSA also announced that it had agreed to merge with The Workloader Benchmarking Alliance (WBA), after signing a memorandum of understanding during the event in Las Vegas.

The partnership will enable ISSA to provide its members with focused education and tools to improve efficiency.

WBA President Sean Fox-Elster commented: “With labour comprising 80% or more of a cleaning budget, it’s surprising that there is no comprehensive, professional workloading certification or educational programme. The merger of the WBA and the ISSA will fill that gap and help to improve skills in the profession as a whole.”
